Different people have different priorities.

Different Candidates make different promises.

Here is what I KNOW, as a citizen of Pitt Meadows for over 25 years…

Our current Mayor and Council, have been extremely productive.  As opposed to Councils of previous administrations, this Council has been respectful, and (despite sometimes vigorous debates) come to a consensus on what is best for Pitt Meadows.

In 2026, in numbers released by the Province of BC, Pitt Meadows had the SECOND LOWEST Property Taxes, in the Greater Vancouver Regional District.

In 2026, Pitt Meadows was voted the #1 Most Livable Small City in Canada… and the #3 Overall Most Livable City in Canada. (Globe and Mail evaluation).

In 2025, Pitt Meadows received the national Government Finance Officers Association’s (GFOA) Award. Pitt Meadows received this National award for its transparent, accountable, and clear 2025 budget.

Approximately 78% of Pitt Meadows is in the Agricultural Land Reserve (ALR), and Pitt Meadows ranks sixth in Agricultural production in BC.  Due to our city’s considerable ALR designation, Pitt Meadows fought for many years to bring a balance between the municipal infrastructure servicing costs, and the ability to generate tax.  The current Mayor and Council have struck that balance, and have pushed back against the Province of BC, which has pushed Pitt Meadows for greater population densification… which landed Pitt Meadows on the Province’s “naughty list”, but pushes back against taking on an infrastructure investment that would drive our taxes up, irresponsibly.

In conclusion… (and you can make your own determinations and choices) …I believe the Status Quo is doing a great job!

The current Mayor and Council have spending under control, and have done numerous studies looking into various amenities and infrastructure investments, and have selectively and judiciously chosen those that are possible, and laid aside those that are not prudent, at this point.

When I voted, I voted for:

Mayor Nicole MacDonald

Councillor Tracy Elke

Councillor Alison Evans

Councillor Mike Hayes

Councillor Mike Manion

Councillor Bob Meachen

and, after MANY terms, sadly Councillor Gwen O’Connell is not running again… so, to replace her, I voted for Owen Coomer.

The important thing is to do your research, and vote!
